Stress-free visits not only help your pet feel more comfortable, but also allow our vets to perform more accurate exams and early diagnosis. When pets are calm, it’s easier to detect subtle health issues—and they’re more likely to cooperate with procedures.
When pets are extremely anxious we will be recommending a targeted behaviour consultation. In addition, we have multiple strategies to help. From consulting outside, creating custom entry/exit plans, booking times when other clients or pets are not present and minimising time in waiting areas, our team is experienced with pets who find vet visits overwhelming.
Yes, sedation is an excellent tool for pets who are too stressed to handle normal veterinary procedures. Many of our patients require a level of sedation just to have their annual vaccinations. We manage every patient individually and choose the level of sedation according to what needs to be done and the level of fear, anxiety and stress that the pet is suffering. Our stress free approach throughout the clinic allows most pets to feel in control and relaxed. For those that need more, there is no shame in helping them have a better experience with some sedation.
Sedation is always discussed in advance and given with full consent.
