Leanne has a way of making both pets and people feel instantly at ease, and she is the kind of leader who is always cheering her team on. She is endlessly caring, always willing to help, and her passion shines through in everything she does. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel lucky to walk through the door each day – and we love her for it.

Professional Journey

‍
Leanne began her career as a research scientist at the University of Melbourne’s Department of Genetics. After completing her Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours in 1998, she pursued veterinary practice in San Diego, passing the highly demanding California State Board Examination.

Returning to Australia, she juggled motherhood and veterinary work across Melbourne before relocating to Albury-Wodonga, where her dream of creating a calm, compassionate veterinary clinic became a reality in 2019.

Special Interests & Expertise

Leanne has a particular interest in pet behaviour and anxiety management, blending the latest research with compassionate care to support both pets and their owners. She also brings a deep understanding of working with fearful and aggressive animals—skills she developed early in her career as an ambulance driver for The Lost Dogs Home.

As Principal Veterinarian, she continues to consult regularly while also leading a team committed to calm, thorough, and expert care.

Outside Of Work

When she’s not at MRAH, you’ll find Leanne unwinding with a great book, flowing through a yoga session, or exploring the outdoors with her beloved dog, Rosie. She loves visiting her daughter in Melbourne and cherishes time with her son – whether they are diving into creative Lego builds, getting inspired by Lego Masters, or indulging in movie marathons.
